The donations made by the Anglo-Venezuelan Society with the proceeds from the Venezuela stands at recent ALAF fairs, were distributed to the following charities:

2008    £1,269.41   
Escuela Básica Jenaro Aguirre in Petare (Caracas)
the money was given to Madre María Luisa Casar for the purchase of medical supplies for the school.

2007    £815.00 
Veniños www.veninos.org
in 2007 Veniños  supported eight projects in Venezuela – ranging from construction work and funding different educational programmes, to providing professional services.
Veniños (Venezuelan Children in Need) is a UK and US registered charity, dedicated to improving the lives of street and shanty town children in urban Venezuela.  Veniños has no religious or political affiliation.

2006    £2,000 
Between the years 2004 to 2006, the AVS’s chosen charity was the Jenaro Aguirre Elementary School in Petare, one of the poorest areas of Caracas.  Run by a nun, Madre Maria Luisa Casar, it teaches 415 very needy children, between the ages of 3 and 14.
The funds  went into building a kindergarten and buying an industrial fridge.
During that period the representatives of the AVS on the ALAF Board, as well as at the Fairs, were the AVS Ladies’ Support Group.

2005    £4,000 (including donations of £1,000 from Barclays and UBS)
