The donations made by the Anglo-Paraguayan Society with the proceeds from the Paraguay stands at recent ALAF fairs were distributed to the following charities:
2008 £680.19
Fundación Santuario de los Niños (£500.00)– takes care of 50 children in order to have them away from the streets. The money was used to purchase furniture for the dining hall.
Fundación Koeyu (part of £750.00)– Takes care of children who live in the Asunción slums, giving them education and food. The money was used to purchase furniture.
2007 £2,250
Jardín de Esperanza £500.00– this is a charity project in Villa Elisa (Asunción), aiming at helping children suffering from AIDS.
Santuario de los Niños (£1,000.00) – this is another charity project working with street children in Barrio Herrera in Asunción.
12-year-old Paraguayan girl suffering from stomach disorder (£150.00) – the amount granted would pay a 6-months long medical treatment.
School in Arroyos y Esteros (£600.00) – will equip the school with a much needed playground.
2006 £909.00
The beneficiaries were the victims of the fire at the Ycua Bolanos supermarket in Asuncion. Given that the fire broke out on a Sunday the majority of the victims were families and children.
2005 £612.00
This amount was donated to improve facilities at the Rubio Nu school in Itacuribi de la Coordillera.
2004 £537.00
The whole amount was donated to a voluntary Fire Brigade in Asuncion in order to purchase a fire truck with a ladder which reaches the height of a ten storey building.
2003 £474.00
£237 was spent on a wheelchair and medical treatment for a disabled child. The rest of the money was donated to the Conin Paraguay Foundation (an organisation which cooperates with infant nutrition in Paraguay).
