The Anglo-Colombian Society (ACS) resigned from membership on 16 October 2010, with an understanding that Friends of Colombia for Social Aid (FOCSA) would join ALAF in its stead. ACS is not itself an association with charitable aims, but had long been an active ALAF member and had represented on ALAF the interests of the charitable organisations FOCSA and Children of the Andes (COTA). At ALAF’s 2011 AGM, FOCSA was accepted as a member of ALAF which will also be representing the interests of the ACS and COTA.

The funds raised at the ALAF Fairs since 2003 were put towards buying equipment for the following projects:
2010 £472.00
In 2010, the proceeds were allocated to the Albergue Infantil Mamá Yolanda in Bogotá [Mamá Yolanda Children’s Shelter]. The Albergue leads a ground-breaking project promoting the reunification of street children with their families. The project responds to a law recently introduced in Colombia, which in line with the UN convention on the Rights of the Child, reduces the amount of time that children should spend in institutional care and encourages the child’s speedy return to family life. It aims to prevent children returning to the dangers of the street when they leave the Albergue by improving families' ability to cope with their child's return, and detecting when a child is suffering abuse or neglect at home. Since all care institutions working with children have been affected by
the change in law, this pilot project is of potential value to the entire childcare sector in Colombia.
