The proceeds made by the Anglo Chilean Society stands at recent ALAF fairs were as follows:

2008     £517   
Coaniquem (£517) –Coaniquem runs hospitals for the treatment of badly burned children. The money received was used to buy special equipment for the treatment of burns.

2007     £5275   
Orquestas Juveniles (£1,000) – to provide musical instruments for disadvantage Chilean children.

Project Turst (£200) – to fund an English student spend a year in Chile teaching English in state schools.

Musika Musika (£1,575) – to promote an exchange of music education between Chilean and English schools.

Escuela Gran Bretaña (£1,000) – to support the work of a school for disabled children in Valparaíso.

Salud Infantil (£1,000) – to support the children’s hospital in Valparaíso.

Sordera Institute (£500) – to support the deaf children’s school in Valparaíso.

They went, in their entirety to our chosen charity, Coaniquem, who have three rehabilitation centres in Chile (Santiago, Antofagasta and Puerto Montt).

They are the only such centres in Latin America. Coaniquem apart from a full range of treatments for cases of burnt children, has its own workshop speacialising in the production of compression garments.

All the funds collected by the Chilean stand  at various ALAF fairs, from 2003-2006 were devoted to buying necessary machines for this sewing workshop.
